The last and the coming weeks were/are dominated by our family-week-programs with paddling and hiking. The first 2 groups finished the complete program perfectly and can be proud of it. Ok, the 2-day-paddlingtrip brought on or another close to his/her limits. When it is hot and we paddle upstream, it is getting challenging. But all boats reached the overnight-place and also managed the rapids at Kohosenkoski at the end of the 2nd day nicely. Frank and Luk were so keen on paddling, that they even paddled more upstream through the Kivikoronvirta-rapids in the evening after dinner. Simply because paddling can be so much fun!
Although the days are getting a bit colder, of course also the nights, more rain was falling in the last days and the morning-humidity is sticking to the tent-walls for a while, I look very much forward to the coming canoe-trips. Today a new family arrived, another one on Wednesday and then again on next Saturday we expect more families. On top of that we have often campers here staying for a few days and enjoying the area and dogs. It even happens, that campers leave after a few nights here to continue their journey, but the next day, they write, if they could please come back... :-) ! The guided hiking trips are done now by Stefan and Lisa. And if somebody likes to add a guided biking trip, then just to mention that Lisa arrived here by bike and also Garo (not yet on the team-pages) is travelling by bike since many months now. So both experienced bikers and predestined bike-guides.
Otherwise nothing special happens here. Almost every day something to repair in the kennels, the dogs are very chilled and still enjoying their summer-break, the dog-pools are still open and also swimming in the lake is still ok for humans. Our 2 finnish helpers and Eelis will finish their practical stay this week. Thanks a lot to you 2 for helping us with many different tasks during your school-/study-holidays and have a great start back in "normal" life!
Have a nice remaining summer everybody!
