Eräkeskus in early summer

Cosmo left us and moved back to Germany. Wondering if he still likes it there? As his Boss Alex joined him, the re-integration surely is easier for him, but nevertheless a big change after 3 years in Eräkeskus.  Cosmo and Alex: We miss you and wish you a nice summer down there! We can completely understand Alex´s wish to get a time-out after 3 years, but we all look forward to seeing you up here again! Alex: A huge ThankYou again, also on this way, for the 3 years you spent here, your tremendous work done for Eräkeskus and all the good times! 3 years ago you joined the team and made all the way with us through turbulent times.  Hard to find anybody else who put his stamp to Eräkeskus, like you did it, you were calm even in worse times and uncountable clients spent an unforgettable holiday thanks to you. Guests, the dogs and we - the remaining summer-team - wish you a warm welcome whenever you want!

So the crew summer 12 is built by Nadia, Ornella, Tanja, Patrick and Simone. Starting from autumn, we will get 2 new dog-professionals here to support us, so the team 12/13 is already under contract. We will be able to guide our week-tours new also in Italian and Dutch, completing German, French and of course English.

And what´s going on here in early summer?

  • Nevada was adopted by Nadia and is enjoying now her old days as housedog. You earned it, Nevada!
  • Nature is slowly putting the table... first mushrooms are here, blueberry-flowers promise a lot of berries later in summer and the fishing-seaon started as well.
  • During the last bearwatching-night we could see also a wolverine, rather rare in this area and hardly visible. Unfortunately we did not manage to get really nice pictures...
  • Free-Runs with the dogs from the New Kennels are appreciated a lot and during warm days it is hard to get the dogs out from water again!
  • The expected litter of Laverda, in about 10 days, is motivating us to make many bets again... we bet for litter-size, whelping-day and how many males/females there will be.
  • Water-levels are going back to normal, compared to earlier years. The picture from the bridge, again visible, shows impressively, how the level changed in the last 2 weeks.

Looking forward to North-Carelian Summer!
