On early Sunday morning, the long waiting finally had an end: Our female Laverda gave birth to her pups! It was not an easy one and we all were a bit worried. One puppy was unfurtunately dead. One other tried to come out together with his twin-brother, which caused a blocked exit and the help of Laverda was a bit too rough and caused him a damaged skin on the neck of about 2.5 cm length. Our vet stitched him twice and now the little fighter gets smallest possible doses of antibiotics for 5 days and we all hope that he makes it without infection.
By now, Laverda is very relaxed, cleaning and taking care of her pups with a lot of patience. And the pups of course enjoy the free access to the milkbar!
