Getting ready for autumn

Summer-season was officially ended on 15th September and we went straight into autumn-season. The first Musher-Workshop- and Autumn-guests arrived, fishermen, hunters and dog-people visit us for overnights, means Eräkeskus is still full of live.

Nature is getting nicely coloured, the birches start to let go their first leaves. Mushroom-growing was stopped a bit, as the last days have been very dry. But we are optimistic that they will start growing once more, so we can fill up our storage for the coming  12 months. If not, we have to reduce the mushroom-menues a bit during winter time!

Outdoor-activities are still fun, although the temperatures are cooligng down slowly. Sitting by a nice fire during a break is warming up again everybody and most probably also the Triathlon from next week still has nice weather conditions.  Sadly we had to postpone the training-start of the dogs a bit. Too much humidity and already 14 Degrees C in the morning are not really good for our dogs. But sooner or later, the start will be possible!

We have already 250 small bales and 3 big round bales of dry straw in the barn, most of the end-of-season-cleaning on the yard is done and our dog-food-container was just filled with more than 5 tons of new winter-food. We are ready for autumn and winter-start!
