Is there something to do in the actual summer heat what is better than paddling?... our last clients were very active also with hiking trips and discovered the area from Tiilikka Nationapark to Saunajärvi, the northern part of Karhunpolku, Ruunaa and Koli Nationalpark. Well... the lucky ones with 2 weeks holiday here can really see a lot from the area!
Our dogs from the Old kennels have opened now their swimming pool and enjoy it a lot to be there at every possible occasion. During the hot recent days itwas easy to understand that almost all of them enjoy the pool and don´t like at all to move back to the kennels after the swim.
Rain is what we miss here a lot, since weeks. If at very poor occasions - like last night - a few drops are falling, we really are happy about it. Luckily the temperatures from close to 30 degrees C were dropping a bit in the last 2 days. Not only dogs and humans like that - also nature can recover a bit now. Weather forecast announces a few more rain showers in the next days - we hope it is correct. That would also reduce the acute danger of forest-fires a bit, at least for a short while.
When in comes to summer-puppies... summer so far is a bit sad. Our selected female for the summer-litter 2013 has so far no intention to get her heat. A bit of patience is left from our side... At least Sakke got father from 8 healthy pups a few days ago. He had the luck to breed a female from a friend-musher beginning of April. That means that at least 1 pup from this litter will move to Eräkeskus by late summer.
