Snow and ice, then back to Dryland-Training

That's how it goes here at the moment. One day we train on snow, then on ice, then on sand again, as we did at the very beginning of autumn training. But despite those sometimes bad conditions, our dogs are running now close to 30 km per day/team. Which means: good dogs and good team! We have to admit, that real winter has not yet moved to North Karelia, but at least we do not expect any more precipitations at plus degrees. Since yesterday, the ice on the lakes is getting thicker again, and after a few days - when it is strong enough -snowfall is predicted again. Which is actually the normal way and how it should be - just a bit later than usual.

Always keeping in mind that everything can change, we had to accept some changes in the winter team. Sylvia decided suddenly to start some new studies in Germany already beginning of December and left us this morning. We say Thank You for a short but interesting time here and wish her all the best for her new ideas.
Caused by this, we took Fiona under contract until end of April and by mid-December, our team will get again a new member. So we will start into the high season with the planned 8-person-team. .

P.S.: It must be caused by Saturday, that 2 of the pictures cannot be turned into correct position. Webmaster says sorry and hopes that no neck-problem will occur from reading and watching our news!
