Training, Indian Summer and growing Pups

Finally - also we here at Eräkeskus started our autumn-training to get the dogs ready for coming winter. Day 7 of training is behind us - and everything goes fine! Thanks to a good fitness-program during summer (free-runs and swimming), we could already start with distances up to 17 km in week 1.  And by today, our dogs have run a total of almost 6000 km. Almost all teenagers from summer 2012 are doing a good job and enjoy to run; only Linus still believes that he is born to run free, not in harness.  But that´s how it goes: some dogs need a bit longer to have fun running in harness. Last Saturday we got a brand new atv, which will make our training even more efficient in future. A great thanks to our sponsor Ornella from the whole team!

Indian Summer - or what we call here Ruska-time - is soon coming to an end. Still, the birches have a lot of yellow leafs, but they will not stay up for a long time anymore. Yesterday morning the thermometer showed -6 degrees C, a clear sign that winter is coming closer!  Who knows, maybe in the next news we can already show a picture from white Eräkeskus!

The Tuija-Pups are used now to a daily walk in the forest or on the lake shore.  And they enjoy it a lot! After that exciting trip they also like to go back to the puppy-house to have a relaxing afternoon sleep next to mummy Tuija.
