Happy New Year!

These are the last news in this year! Uncredibly fast it went over - again!

During the last week we experienced some very cold days, down to -28 degrees C they dropped, and yes, we were a bit cold too, as not yet used! Since yesterday, temperatures are back to nicer levels, just below zero, although rather mild for this time of the year. We also got plenty of fresh snow in the last 2 days. Those dogs out now on tour with 2 groups to celebrate New Year in a wilderness cabin, are having a very hard job! Keep on going, doggies - you can!  Tomorrow, 2 more groups will start out for cabin overnight and maybe they will meet the others, who are returning to Eräkeskus tomorrow. The lake-trails are more than safe now to drive over. Ice-thickness is close to 35 cm by now.

Beautiful sunshine during those last cold days, made several photographers feel very happy! Sadly the accus are not lasting very long in those temperatures...

Completely forgotten in the last news: we got puppies on 14th December from Sisu: 3 beautiful, strong built babies. This means, Sisu is "out of order" for the rest of the season, only taking care of her pups. She loves her new job, but promised to be back as main-leader for season 15/16. We are still discussing about the best names for the 3 babies and will keep you informed as soon as we found the right names!

Until coming weekend, temperatures will stay rather mild and even more snow is announced. Then, starting from Sunday, they drop again and we expect a cold first week in January. For those guests arriving next weekend: take an extra layer of fleece or warm underwear with you!

On this last day of the year, there is nothing more to say than THANK YOU to all our guests, friends and partners for an unforgettable year 2014! It was great having you here on holiday resp. cooperating with you! We wish you all a nice evening and an even better year 2015, health and lots of intense moments!

And last but not least: thanks to all our dogs, doing this great job for us, again and again! You are our stunning athletes and we love you! Keep on running!
