The Pre-Christmas-Week - or our first season of this winter - is over. Sadly the weather and snow conditions did not allow us to run the programs as published. But as we had informed our guests beforehand, we organised other activities, mostly hiking from cabin to cabin. 4 overnights in wilderness cabin for the Bears-Trailers and and 1 overnight for the winterweek-guests, long hiking days and temperatures between +2 degrees and -24 degrees, made this week still an adventurous one. The snow-cover on the ground was slowly getting thicker and from Friday afternoon till late night, we got almost 30 cm of fresh snow. This hopefully is enough security now to run this weeks tours normally and survive the short plus-degree-periods announced for tomorrow and the day after.
Yes, this up and down from temperatures is still going on for a while, but sooner or later the real winter will arrive here as well, and we will be very happy at that moment!
