Greetings from snowy North-Karelia!

Lack of snow? Temperatures too mild? Really nothing we can complain about at the moment! During the last days, we got so much of fresh snow, that everything looks like in a fairytale. Trees overed with loads of snow, temperatures between -10 and -20 C, soft and snowy trails.

The first week in January was perfect for everybody. 3 groups came back from tour with many unforgettable experiences. They left last weekend, except those who decided to stay longer and changed their flights and now work here as "official snow shovelers" for hours... thanks Axel!). New guests arrived the same weekend and tomorrow 3 guides start out again for Bears Trail and Border Trail.

Technically we are unfortunately k.o. at the moment, as neither scooters nor atv are working at the moment. We hope, in a few days the problem will be solved. This means, at the moment we keep trails open by snowshoes and with dog-teams. A lot of work, but funny for once. All dogs, even if not out on tour, get regular runs as trail breakers, to keep everything open, although more snow is announced almost every day in near future. 2 longer parts of our trail net are not yet open, but as soon as we have motor-power back, we try to get them open as well.

No more words needed - just take a look at the pictures from the last 10 days!
