Overnight-Trainings Pälvekoski

Our 2-day-trainings at the windshelter Pälvekoski are by now a fix part in our program. If you want to take part in one of those, just book the Musherworkshop for November. As long as temperatures are ok, we keep on doing those trainings.

After breakfast we load dogs and material (food, water, sleeping bags, reindeer-skins, overnight-chains, bowls, etc.) and get transported to the windshelter. There, right after arrival, a first training-run for the dogs is on the program. Some 15 - 20 km on perfect sandy roads, before the dogs get watered and fed and then can lay down to relax for a few hours on a nice straw bed. The mushers get time to warm up on open fire and of course a nice snack. In late afternoon there is training-loop nbr 2. The rest of the evening is for feeding dogs, cooking on open fire, talking/relaxing and then have a nice sleep on reindeer-skins. The fire normally burns all night long and keeps us nicely warm.

On next morning, after breakfast for dogs and humans, we start out for training-loop nbr 3, before then everything is loaded back to car and transported back home to Eräkeskus for a tasty lunch.

Besides this, we can happily inform that the Kalea-daughters and Luna and the Ruunaa-Pups are now all living together and getting along perfectly well. The smallest ones now also learned to eat only from their own bowl, not from the neighbours.

And last but not least: Erik joined our team as last one, has his working day nbr 3 right now and will be presented in his own words soon on the team-pages.
