Racing Frank & Spring-Pups

During the last weekend of March, Frank took part with 8 of his favourite dogs in Open Class in the Finnish Sprint Championship Race in Rautavaara. As all dogs were on tour until the week before the race, there was no possibility to prepare them properly to the race and get them out of the stop & go-mode. Only once, Frank had the possibility to simulate the race by driving 2 x the race-distance of 24 km without guests in front or behind him. But: he brought back a 4th place which is just a perfect result and makes us very proud of our dogs! Only 3 pure race-teams were faster than he was, those dogs have no idea about heavy sleds and cabin-trips with guests. Huge congratulation to Frank the Race-Musher, Carolin as race-handler and of course our dogs! The Eräkeskus-Flag is high hissed!

In the meantime we had during last week now the last bordertrail of the season and 2 groups on Bears Trail out. The training days were a little bit too warm, but then the tour itself was again with perfect conditions, lots of sun and constant minus degrees. Today the next group started out for 2 cabin-overnights, 2 groups arrive - out of normal schedule - tomorrow and we still enjoy every kilometer on the trails! Only on Easter-Sunday we finish our season and then, yes, we look forward to a bit spring-relaxing as well!

On 2nd April. our Tundra got her first puppies! Well, the litter was not planned, so it was not possible to be clear about estimated birthday! But it was abvious since a few weeks, that she is pregnant and thanks to our dog journal we could define it by +/- 10 days. So now they are here: 6 strong boys and 1 lady, all in similar brown-black colours and Tundra is perfectly well taking care of them. All ok in the puppy-fence of the Red House.

And last but not least: Finally we managed to get our massage-lady Leena on a sled-ride! Some fake news were needed around, she was expecting only a puppy-walk, but in the end she had a bright smile on her face and enjoyed the ride!
