Unusual 8 degrees C today; warmest temperature until end of week is 15 degrees C... so we question ourselves, if summer is over and fall arrived early. Also coming week will be rather fresh and the nights will be as cold as 1 degree C. So take your warm clothes if you travel to Karelia in the next days! Autumn-training has therefor started early this year... leaders at the moment with 7.6 km are jack & Misu :-)
But we ignore the bad weather and keep on being busy here. The first fish filets from our lake are in the freezers. In the Old Kennels we build and build... new doors, new kennel elements, new doghouses, digging holes and closing them again, cutting trees, put wooden floors, etc. And our kitchen is now in classical blue-white of the Finnish Flag!
There is also time for a holiday! Alex just returned after 5 weeks holiday. Caro and Cino spent a few days on the westcoast. Roger soon starts for 2 months to Norway. And Simone as well will enjoy a holiday in a classical Finnish loghouse north from here soon.
The sad news of the last days we have put on Facebook already. Sadly the litter of Mysa & Mogly was everything but easy. After an unusual long preparation, Mysa could give birth to 2 puppies by herself. Then a dead one blocked the way and we had to rush to the emergency clinic in Joensuu to help her by caesarean section. Sadly also puppy nbr 4 didn't make it and slept away after a few minutes. And as if this was not enough already: also puppy nbr 2 died on Sunday morning at the very young age of only 36 hours. Hard to accept, we had so big hopes for this litter! Now we hope that the only remaining puppy will get strong and stay with us. And of course we hope that our next summer-litter from Bria & Lex, expected in about 3 weeks, will be easier and without problems.
Employee of the month May is Cino! He dropped a heavy solar-battery on his toe and as the veterinarian clinic was so close, he got treated there to stop the bleeding and get bandages. Today, Cino is walking again normally on 2 feets :-)
And Last but not Least: The new EU Data protection law came to effect on 25th May 2018, and it is now also published on our webpage, including the rules about pictures with your face and your rights about those pictures. Sorry to say, those texts are only on German. A lot of text, that probably not many will ever read. But if the EU launches new laws, this is valid also for us. We act according those new laws with immediate effect. If you as reader discover somewhere on our webpages or Facebook an earlier published picture of you, which you want to have removed, then we ask for a short message by e-mail with information about publishing-date and where it is published. We will immediately remove that picture! To all of you we wan to assure, that also in future we will not sell any pictures of private data from customers, that we will not spread any annoying newsletters and that we will concentrate also in future on more important things than collecting and saving personal data from guests or readers. And of course we hope that also in future we will be able to publish not only forests, lakes and sunsets on our homepage/facebookpages, but also once in a while some smiling faces from happy clients.
