Mushrooms and sunny autumn days

Autumn 2018 is sunny and mostly dry. Day-temperatures are now between 15 - 20 degrees C, nights a bit fresher with only 1 digit. But no minus-degrees so far, which means, that still some insects are flying around us when we collect mushrooms in the forests. But out on hiking-trips, they do not bother us anymore, as we move now faster than they :-)

The first load of straw - some 350 bales - arrived for our dogs. While last year it was impossible to get fresh straw, this year it is easy, as the farmers are lucky with the dry weather and sell their straw happily to us. Our dog are very happy about it as well!

Dog-training has not started yet, as it will be too warm for still a while. It does not make sense for us, to get the dogs into running-mood for 1 or 2 runs and then have to stop them again because of too warm weather.  So we are patient and wait until longterm-weather forecast promises suitable temperatures.

2 new team-members arrived: Flavia and Noah, both will be with us until beginning resp. end of January. During the last 10 days, they both got to learn already most of the dogs and the other parts of the job here. Presentation as usual on the team-pages.

And still there are holidays also on our own plans. At the moment Alex is abroad, soon Simone will start her holiday as well. But be sure... when training starts officially, everybody wil be back!
