When the mushroom-drying machines are installed in the lodge, the fire is burning in the evening, when days get colder and more humid, when the sun-tarps in the kennels are taken away, then normally we have autumn and look forward to the first training-session! But we have only beginning of August? Still it looks and feels outside, like autumn has already arrived! Swimming in the lake is not a good idea anymore, no more sunprotection is needed, dogs get the energy-richer food already as preparation for the trainings.
But despite colder weather, we enjoy still freeruns and pool-days with the dogs, just for fun. The puppies of Bria and Mulan discover the world on their short walks around the yard. Hiking and paddling is done in warmer clothes. And thanks to our BBQ-hut we still have the BBQ-evenings, although eating inside is more comfortable. But yes, autumn is coming early this year, closer and closer...
Our Trail-Crew has built a new barrier on our ET-trail. After the Finnish forestgoverment asked us to do it (because the bridge is not strong enough for cars), they distroyed it themselves while logging. Now there is the next one and we are curious to see, how long it will last... Seems like in todays bureaucracy, certain informations do not go from one office to the next...
Our Aittokosk-Cabin got a complete remake of the entry-room. Dennis and Constantin rebuilt it completely and it looks good! Now winter can come, everything is weather-proof and safe!
No, we do not bath our puppies on a regular base. But the Bria-Pups had too much of skin problems with all the insects flying around here in summer; so they all got a protecting bath! It was of course still warmer then and they dried very fast after being washed and rubbed.
