Weather is a bit crazy here at the moment. After the recent period of really freezing cold temperatures, we actually have a too mild weather front reaching us and bringing us even slight plus-degrees. The snow is getting soft, wet and sticky and probably soon the dogs will start to loose their winter-coat... like in springtime! After all those nice weeks with fluffy powder snow it is a hard change! But the cold will soon be back, they say, and we wait for it!
Despite the not so nice conditions, the week started as planned. All 4 groups had their training day/s and tomorrow the next bordertrail will leave the lodge! Week 7 is very "familiar" here at Eräkeskus, as out of 13 guests here, we already know 11 from earlier visits. A real repeater-week!
For a little laugh: Mörkö and Oleg do not like the always white surrounding in the kennels. That's why they startet to build some yellow ice-sculptures in their kennel... we are curious to see how they will continue!
And Last but not Least: Franzi joined our team beginning of February. She will be a helping hand as volunteer until end of May. Although the start in the middle of the season, when hardly ever all dogs are in the kennels, is not easy, she soon knows the "new kennels" and ends her first part of the training period.
