Countdown season 18/19!

The second-last week of the season 18/19 has started - it is snowing nonstop since almost 24 hours. Our dogs had some tough times today, as most of the open trails, over lakes and swamps, are almost gone by wind and fresh snow. Thanks to great leaddogs and active, helping clients, all guests from the 4 groups this week could enjoy a good 2nd training day with 20 or more kilometers. Temperatures have actually settled in around zero degrees. For some dogs it is getting a bit warm now, we need to make more breaks on the trails to let them cool down in the fresh snow.

The last BearsTrail of the season starts out to the cabins tomorrow. During coming week, only winterweeks are on the program. We did not expect that much of fresh snow so late in the season, but of course we take it and say "thank you". Probably we can still run the sleds even after the official season-end.

Roger left us by end of March to live his dream in Svalbard/Norway. A big Thank You to him for almost 2 years with us and for so many unforgettable moments our customers could experience with him out on tour! Bianca joined our team to replace him an is learning dog-names at the moment in the Old Kennels.  She already has worked as Allrounder/Doghandler/Guide on a farm in Norway and now gets to know the Finnish trails. We wish her and her dog Zeno warmly welcome here and look forward to a good time in our team!

Soon everybody from the team can start to enjoy an own holiday as well! Simone is the first one, leaving already later this week. Shortly after, Dennis is going to visit Switzerland, then Alex follows, then Simone again. Everyone of us will have enough holiday during summer to recharge the batteries and see some other areas. Of course there are always enough workers here also to keep the lodge running, and of course we have a lot of ideas/projects as well to realise here during summer 2019! More about these projects will follow in the next news - but those are expected only beginning of May!
