Indian Summer in North-Karelia

Beautifully coloured autumn-forests we can enjoy at the moment, while training dogs or doing other activities outside. Nearby us, there are less birches than pines, therefor the colours are less impressing. But when driving to the village, Lieksa or Joensuu, we can admire the full palet of coulours - just "Wow"! Even a rainy day, as we had it yesterday and today, cannot really reduce the colours, as most of the leaves are still hanging tight to the trees! How much longer? Probably depending on the amount of rain we get in the coming days... But for sure the colours of the birches in the pictures will lighten up your day as well!

Our power-dogs for the Border-Trail are trained now 4 times per week on about 10 km per run. No need to do more at the moment! The Bearstrail-Dogs are still in phase 1 and the winterweek-dogs, as well as the oldies, have not yet started, or did only the 3,5km-loop once or twice for fun.

Yesterday Alina left us, flying back to Switzerland. She was part of the team as volunteer for 3 months and now - after moving in to a new home - starts a "normal" life again in Switzerland. Thanks a lot, Alina, have a good start back home and all the best for your future!
