Sadly we had rather bad weather during the last days. After the great nice White from the last News, we got some plus-degrees again, then new fresh snow, plusdegrees again, etc. A nerve-killing Up & Down, like we actually have it often at this time of the year, but still we always hope for a more constant start into winter-season. During a few days it was then simply too icy and slippery on our trails, what made us stop the training to protect dog-feets. We used this time for putting fresh straw to all doghouses, bring equipment to our winter-cabins, speeded up with sled-preparing or hiked with guests and dogs through snow.
The Finnish Post was on strike since 11th November until yesterday. We are happy to get our mail again and work on the pile of post that was delivered yesterday. If you have sent an advent-package to us or to our dogs and if we did not yet write you a "Thank-you", it is only because we did not yet get your package... we guess, the pile of mail "to be delivered" must be huge in the post offices...
After a long waiting we got yesterday - with the first mail-delivery - our first own buffs! Printed with running dogs, paws and our logo, added by warm polar-fleece, it will make sure that all our guests keep a warm neck during wintertime! Could be a nice present also to bring back home from a tour with us! We like it a lot! A huge Thank-You to Markus, who was creating the design. And who was by coincidence here present the day of delivery, enjoying a break from his "normal" job in Switzerland. ,
Frieda spent a lot of time recently to prepare the 2019 Christmas- and Advent-decoration. It already looks a bit like Christmas in the Lodge! But how it looks, is still our little secret! The Christmas-Bakery will also open soon, as in 2 days it's already 1st Advent. Therefor also to Frieda a big Thank-You for all the preparations and to all our followers a peaceful 1st Advent-Weekend!
