Today's short News are all about painting, renovating and optimizing, our main-tasks in the last days.
Our storage rooms get a new paint, new shelves and lead toward hopefully better tidiness also during high-season.
The guest-toilets in the lodge also got new painting and look like new and much brighter than before. The same is planned for the kitchen area and later on also in the guestrooms and toilets/showers in the lakeside-rooms of the guesthouse. As you remember, we already did the forest-side-rooms during last autumn.
Besides those indoor-works, our hard-working crew is building new kennel-elements to replace one by one of the oldest, first in the Old Kennels. The green yards get a raking and fertilizer during this weekend to hopefully get a fresh young green soonest possible.
Our Aittokoski-Foresthouse was redecorated inside; a new rustic partition was put between the sleeping area and the living room. As well some buckets of colour have been used inside to paint the kitchen walls and those around the fireplaces. Not yet everything is ready, but we have a bit time left to finish!
Between the lines you can therefore read, that finally the melting of snow and ice goes on constantly. Just a few small fields of snow and ice are left on the shady parts of the yard, but most of it is getting drier every day. The first about 5 meters of lake are visible, the remaining ice will not survive long. A bit of rain today and expected 11 degrees during Sunday accelerate the melting even more. Good for us, as we have already 17 hours 40 minutes sunlight every day and are more than ready for summer! Sunsets with phantastic colours can be admired shortly before 22h in the evening; sunrise is a bit after 4h in the morning and that's why we admire those less often...
