Most beautiful Springtime

2 1/2 weeks are gone since the last guests left and still we have perfect late-winter- or spring-conditions. When we got more fresh snow during last week and the nights were still minus with 2-digits, the trails got again perfectly soft and nice. Topped by blue sky, white clouds and great sunshine, what else we could wish for! Sadly our kennel-staff put an end now to sledding to get the dogs calm down and relaxed.

Taffya, Nadja, Constantin and Alex ended the season, together with a few dogs, with a part-team-excursion and overnight in the Hähnijoki-cabin. Bianca and Frieda used the same cabin for an overnight to celebrate their end of season as well. Frank, Caro and Simone were driving shorter trips until the very end, but an overnight in a cabin - as it was planned - cold not be realised. But as long as possible, we will still do skitours with our 5 housedogs, exploring snowy trails with yellow markers, but not visible anymore... although we were driving there still 3 weeks ago...

Despite the shortened season 19/20 our dogs have run almost 153'000 km. The dog with the most kilometers under his paws is once again Lex, who obviously never gets tired. Many groups were out with our guides in the white winter-forests: 20 groups of Bears Trail, 9 Bordertrails (unfortunately mostly with adjusted routing due to weather), 20 Winterweeks, 2 Exclusive-weeks and the  xmas/newyears weeks as well as some cottage-weeks. Most guide-weeks on the counter has this season - who would have thought this - Simone, closely followed by Alex and Frank, then Dennis, Taffya, Constantin and the Junior-guides Bianca and Caro. Also the "yard- and backoffice-workers" Nadja, Mona, Frieda, everybody gave her/his best to create unforgettable memories to our guests and also end this difficult season with high flags. Thank you all!
Mona, Dennis and Frank are the ones who left us now already. Mona 6 weeks too early because of possible travel restrictions, Dennis also a bit earlier than planned for the same reason, and Frank as last one had to catch the last ferry from Helsinki transporting passengers, 3 weeks earlier than booked. A special thank you to those 3 for the past months, years or season! Mona is back in North Germany, trying to live a normal life, Dennis has hopefully safely arrived in the Swiss mountains and is re-arranging a normal life as well; Frank wants to return also next winter-season and maybe already checks the ferry timetables... 8 remaining here at the moment! And soon our longer holidays start as well. We all take a 2-months-unpaid period during summer to not get overcrowded here. Nadja and Alex are the first ones to leave, they have a month off starting mid-April.

We wish a happy Easter-time to everybody out there, a nice springtime and of course: stay home - stay healthy!
