Still too warm...

The most beautiful part of Indian Summer is over. More and more leaves are landing on the ground. Early morning is rather fresh and a traininng run would be perfect. 6 - 8 degrees C are nice for training and our experienced dogs also realise it. They get a bit nervous... when can we start? But we still wait for a few days. Too soon around noon it is too warm again and we could only train 1 - 3 groups. So we keep it as always: no hurry, we have plenty of time and rather wait a bit, before then starting an efficient training of all the groups.

Meanwhile we keep on repairing and exchanging the wooden floor in the new kennels. Some parts have to be completely renewed before snow, ice and cold make more damages to the wood again. In our Aittokoski-cabin we have now a kennel as well, 60 m2 fenced area, where our tour-dogs can then be unchained for a while. Cleaning the ground from all the birch-leaves is part of our day, as well as storing firewood. 40 m3 have already been delivered, parts of it are already stored away, and a last truck will follow tomorrow.

We still don't know how the Finnish Government is handling the Covid-19 in near future. We are worried, but have hope, that they find a solution which suits the tourism and makes the borders open again just in time for winter-start. At the moment almost all travellers from Central Europe need a corona-test, maximum 3 days before arriving in Finland. And a 2nd test here after arrival is discussed as well. And we discuss with the authorities to find a solution which makes all 3 sides happy. But... authorities are never n a hurry... nothing is yet decided. If you still plan a journey to Eräkeskus during coming winter, we recommend you a soon booking to get one of our rare rooms. If travel restrictions make it later impossible to travel, then you can still cancel for free.

Frieda is again part of our team since 2 weeks and since today also Robin is working for us.  We wish her a great time again during her 3rd stay here, and to him of course also a lot of fun with our energetic dogs. Next to complete the team will then be Gaby, in 12 days. If you really want to be uptodate, you best check our team-pages regularly to get to know all the new faces!

So after all: we are ready for training and winter and try to be patient with Corona, still wondering how long and how bad it still keeps us busy with no guests. See you hopefully soon again - have a nice autumn time!
