Yes! Really! In these coming days we reach the 20-degrees-level at noon. Whoever has time to sit on the veranda during midday, can enjoy even close to 30 degrees, caused by reflection of sunbeams to the wall. Sunglasses, suncream, shorts and t-shirt make more than sense! Who is first to jump to the lake?
Meanwhile we are sadly still without clients. But we used also the last 2 weeks and were working on meaningful jobs for the season. The kennels got sun-shelters to protect the dogs from the hot sun. Climbing-stoppers, tables and doghouses are new-built or renovated, almost normal live at Eräkeskus, also during Corona-times. Our new team-member Gabriel is here since 10 days and already well familiar with the new kennels. And besides the kennelwork he is building at the moment a new sitting bench from birch for the guesthouse.
The waterlevels are rather normal for this time of the year. Caro and Simone finished the first paddlingtrip, although the connection from Lake Puuruu to River Jongunjoki is a bit narrow and only for the braves. Move your head down and just glide throug! Soon there is again more space between water and tunnel... The lawn is getting green and also the birch trees show carefully their first light green. Nature is like exploding the next days and suddenly it's summer, shortly after the last snow has gone.
Nadja and Alex are back from their 1-month-holiday, criss-crossing South- and West-Finland. Now they take over the Lodge for one month, as Caro and Simone also start soon to a 1-month-trip of holiday.
Sadly Finnair is abviously still a bit in chaos if it comes to fligh cancellations. Nobody knows for sure, which destiantions will when be taken back to regular timetables. It is unsure, if Joensuu-flights will be available again for winter, or only starting from March 21. That's why we want to remind you, that flying to Kuopio is a good alternative to visit us. As long as there are no flights available to/from Joensuu, we will of course not charge the supplement for the longer transfer from/to Kuopio. We would love to pimck you up there without supplement. For those who can spend one day more of holiday, the train trip from Helsinki to Joensuu is also a nice thing to do and give you a first impression of snowy winterland. We hope that flight schedules will soon get back to normal and that we can see you soon again here in Eräkeskus!
