Finally, after travel restrictions were reduced, we could welcome here the first summer guests! Too long we had to wait for it, now we enjoy it even more. Cooking for guests, show them the kennels, talk about god and the world in the evenings, heating them the wooden sauna, etc. Good to do those things again! We welcomed here the Finnish ambassador in Morocco, who could not leave the country for very long time and now is happy to spend a holiday again in his old homeland. Then the German who is biking from Kirkenes/Norway to Dresden/Germany who needed a break. And the group of campers from Rostock, who also booked a wildlife-overnight-trip. Und by the end of the week we expect the first "long-term-guest", who spends 16 nights with us and we look forward to some exciting activities with him.
The projects "Old Kennels" were finished as planned by mid-July. The lasts new elements were put up to finish the row Kello - Spirit and also the front of the Keen-Kennel is now new again. Good to see some projects finished, even better to see we did them in the planned timeline. Now we have a short kennel-building-break, as during the guest-weeks not a lot of building-works will be possible. But then we re-start with new building-energy to start the renovations of the "new kennels" as well, because "new" is not valid there anymore for many of the compartments.
And last but not least, there was also time for a short time-out for Caro and Simone, to discover new areas in Eastern-Karelia, test new hiking-trails and get fresh ideas for new combinations for summer 2022. We will shuffle all those ideas during the coming weeks and hope to be able to bring up new programs and packages soon. Of course, Siri and Socke were part of the explorer-team and even hanging bridges did not stop them...
