Dismantle, cut trees, re-build...

Temperatures are everything but constant... from nearly 30 degrees mid-May down to 2 - 5 degrees in those days now... added by a lot of rain... not so nice! But despite this, everything gets greener and greener every day, the birches are blooming, almost all the sun-tarps are put to the kennels, although serving now more as rain- than sun-protection... Swimming in the lakes must be postponed a bit, as we still wait for real summer.

As you maybe read in our facebook-posts, we got a lot of building material inj the last weeks. Wood, net, stones... And the project "lumi-kennel" in the Old Kennels is the first we started. We were dismantling the whole front row, took down the net-elements, moved the dog houses and dog tables away. Then we could cut a lot of old trees which risked to fall in one of the next storms, dead ones and also still green ones. CUtting this to pieces, loading to the trailer, re-clean the forest areas from fallen branches, etc. Most of the wood will serve as firewood up north in our cabin Aittokoski. One of the "new" compartmens will get a full wooden floor, so we made the basement of 6 x 4 meters size with exposed aggregate concrete,  then we will continue with long, strong tree trunks and pressure impregnated bars to get the frame ready for the wooden floor. It will be nailed during next week. Then new kennel elements will be built to replace the oldest ones and put up in real teamwork.

"Together" is the keyword, as many of those tasks cannot be completed alone. And it is much more fun to to those in team, all togehter. David and Theresa arrived on 24th/25th May, 2 new workers from Austria, and they already started helping a lot! A new mix of nationalities... 3 Austrians, 2 Germans and Simone as the only Swiss...

Our Minea-Puppies are now 7 weeks old and get real "monsters"... 5 -7 kg heavy, very active and always up to something... Today they moved from the "Kindergarden" behind the Red House" to the much bigger puppy-fence behind the guesthouse. From there, mother Minea will be re-integrated in her kennel-group step by step, as she needs some distance now from time to time and the milk is decreasing as well. The pups so far love the action-playground in their new home with trees, tyres, climbing castles, treetops and much more.
