One more Family-Week

Once more, the last week was full with families. Camper-families, short-stay-families with activities (singles and couples of course as well), week-families with full program. They all were very active: hiking and paddling with guide, by bike to our famous village-coffeeshop, with the SUP on the lake... a lot was on the progam. Our 4 guides were rather busy fullfilling all tours. Once more the weather was perfect. Sunny and not too hot, making distance-hiking fun as well. Thanks to 2 nights with already colder temperatures, most of the biting insects are gone by now and let us enjoy the breaks more relaxed again.

The windshelters Suuri Piillonen and Kivikoronvirta were chosen for the 2-day-hikes and -canoe-tours. And once more dozens of pictures were taken there from sunset and sunrise. The tent-night during the hiking-trip was rather cold, if there had been more space in the backbags for the thicker sleepingbags, it would have been better. The tentnight of the paddle-group was fine, but of course there is much more space in a canoe compared to the one in a backbag.  The rapids of Kohosenkoski were completed without problems last week by 3 families. Congratulations!

A bit more tricky were the days from 6th to 9th August. After heavy thunderstorms and electricity-cuts, our waterpump stopped working. Being with 10 guests who like to shower, use the toilets and get normal breakfast buffet and 3-course dinner, it was sort of a challenge for our team. And because we live in the forests, of course nothing could be done during the weekend. Only on Monday morning, the pump-man was here, ordered then a replacing pump by express and could luckily install it right on Tuesday afternoon. What a good feeling when water was running again, the dishwasher worked and kennels could be cleaned again normally!  A big sorry again to our guests who were affected and thanks for your understanding and the relaxed manner dealing with the problems. And a big Thank you to our neighbours who provided us with drinking water in canisters every day.

Our puppies are teenagers by now. The Talvi's live now in the puppyhouse New kennels, together with 3 of the Tosca's. The rest of the Tosca's moved together with the Mulan's to the Big Ones kennel, the Happy's and Susi's are still in 1 big pack, running around the puppy-fence at the Old kennels. We end the puppy-updates on Facebook as per today, because they live all inn mixed groups and move a lot from one place to the next, making it almost impossible to get pictures from only 1 litter.  Sorry that we have been a bit lazy this summer with regular puppy-updates. 34 is simply a lot...
