It could be nicer, but that's how autumn here can be. We saw the sun last time on 30th October and it was really an awesome day as we have shown on facebook. Since then it is constantly grey in grey with often rain, sometimes a bit below zero, mostly a bit above zero. Well, "golden autumn" cannot be everywhere. Today we can only estimate where the opposite shore of our lake is, as it is all gone in a thick cloud of fog.
Still we continue our training - adpted to the humid conditions. The A-dogs run around 20 km now, the B-dogs are at abotu 15 km. C-dogs and veterans have a more lazy life still, no hurry to train them for longer distances. The water buckets are still in the kennels and some days it is still possible to clean the wooden floor with the hose. But some mornings there is ice in the buckets and the hose gets frozen more often. The dogs are - despite the bad conditions - highly motivated and are happily running different loops every time.
The team is coming closer to the final version for winter 22/23. Caro has left us now - have a good start in your new life! Julian (who will replace Julia - no, he was not chosen because of the name...) will join the team on November 12th. 10 days later the other Julian will arrive, He is already known by our followers. And after that, by mid-Dcember,Moritz arrives, also well known! The last one joining the team is then Stefan from January on, he will replace the then already leaving Lisa & Alex. But this is reaching out far into future... let's stay in the present! Simone leaves this weekend towards the sun to enjoy for a while sun, beach and temperatures above 20C. Petra and Helena meanwhile take care of all office-matters and everybody in the team will continue the dogtraining. Hopefully soon in dryer and colder conditions. Have fun!
Our carpark got a new member, a white Mazda, perfect for drives to the airport for only 2 - 4 guests. He replaces the old Ford, what we put away in summer. Sadly it is already too cold for the Eräkeskus-label on the side, this will have to wait until next spring. Healthy and accident-free rides to everybody!
And... we still have a lot of available tourplaces in winter! Looking forward to get some more bookings in the coming weeks!
