River & Lake

We load the canoes/kajaks on our trailer and get a short transfer south to River Mukajoki where we start our trip at Kivikoronvirta. For the first 6 km the river is flowing slowly through an always changing landscape. A lot of beavers live here and maybe we are lucky enough to spot one. When river Mukajoki is flowing into river Lieksanjoki, the waterway gets wider and has almost no current anymore. A little bit upstream we will make a stop on a nice sandy beach. Then we continue upstream the system of lakes and rivers until we reach lake Nurmijärvi and Eräkeskus. Paddling distance about 10 km.

This tour is suitable for everybody as it is similar like lake-paddling and there are no difficult parts.
