Program of the Winterweek "Plus"

Day 2: After breakfast you get to know the sleddogs and during a detailled theory we show you how to handle the team, the sled, how to react in what situation. Then we start out to a first, easy tour. About 10 - 15 km for a nice start. After returning to the kennels, we feed the dogs, then we get our own lunch and the rest of the afternoon is for your own activities. 

Day 3: We repeat what you learned yesterday. Today we drive some 18 - 20 on more technical trails. Uphill, corners, downhill, narrow trails, etc. You handle the team during breaks on the trail, you can already solve small problems by yourself, you get one with your team. The dogs get a soup after returning, then we eat our lunch in the restaurant and talk about the following overnight-tour. Rest of afternoon for your own use. 

Day 4 & 5: After breakfast we load our sleds and drive over30 km north to the Aittokoski-cabin or south to the holiday cottage in Ruunaa. Here we need a good team-work to get all the jobs done: snacking and feeding the dogs, preparing their strawbed, making fire in the cabin and in the sauna, getting water, cooking our lunch and dinner. The rest of the day will not be boring! Next morning, we and the dogs get a breakfast, before we start cleaning the cabin, filling up firewood, loading the sleds and then we drive back to Eräkeskus. Rest of afternoon for free use, relax and use the sauna once more!

Day 6 & 7: On one of those days you have your day off, time for own activities or just relax. Or you want to join us for the kennel works? The other day we go for a snowshoe-hike in the nature resort of the Änäkäinen Lakes. Hiking on or around the lakes, preparing our lunch on open fire and just enjoy the silence of the Nordic forests.

Depending on booking situation and utilization of the cabins, we keep the right to switch the day off and the snowshoe-tour to mid-week and start to the overnight-trip on day 6.
