Summer is coming soon to an end!

.... and autumn is knocking on the door! The birches start to get coloured, the nights get longer and the temperatures colder. We had several rainy days recently, all ok for the mushrooms! Many are already here, many more will come!

Our last 2-day-hike in this season is over; the last 3-day-duathlon hikingpaddling starts tomorrow and also the last bear-wolve-observation-night is over now. A bit strange or worrying during that night was the single appearance of a wolf-puppy. While last week, there was the whole family of 4 passing by, last night, there was only 1 pup who came to fill his stomach with salmon. We hope that the rest of his family was not involved in a "hunting-accident", but that he ran away from his group only for a short while and has rejoined them by now!

During the next 3 weeks, there will be "only" day-activitites on the program anymore, but still we have a lot to do here with up to 11 guests at the same time. No chance to think about starting the dog-training, even the temperatures in early mornings would invite for that!

Our team starts to grow again for the coming winter-season. We look forward to get our 3 first "new ones", Alexandra, Carolin and Cino, in 2 weeks time. Dani is looking for new challenges and left already, his contract is ended by end of August. Good luck for your future! And our 4-week-volunteer Jan is leaving tomorrow morning. Despite his young age, he was a great help in those last 4 busy weeks and we say "thanks a lot" for his stay here!
