Week 4/2020 was really a pity... long lasting plus-degrees made our snow disappear a bit more day by day... in the end there were only ice-trails on some forest-parts. On the lake-ice there was water and made crossing them really wet. Snowshoe-tours could suddenly be done without snowshoes. During this week, we had to shorten down our sled-trips, as parts of the trail-net was simply not useable anymore. The group of Bordertrail had the last cabin-overnight without dogs, as they were bruht back home to have a dry night here. Our group of Winterweek "Plus" was hiking to the cabin, while the dogs enjoyed a safe kennel-night here as well. Thanks to all our guests for their understanding! During those really bad circumstances, we simply have to put dogs first!
Week 5/2020 runs so far on a regular schedule! Snow came back just in time, covered the ice, nature looks wintery, lakes can be crossed with dry feets again - every kilometer with sleds is now fun again! For a short while the temperatures dropped to -26 C and that made also the last ditches freeze over! Season 2020 was re-started1
A special note is dedicated in those News to our guest Walo. Being 78 years old, he proudly finished the Bears Trail and returned back home, together with his grand-daughter. Great spirit, Walo, congratulation! We are happy to have been part of your week!
One group of Bears Trail is expected back home today. Another group left this morning for the cabin-trip. Our Bordertrail-Group is expected back home tomorrow. All over a happy Come & Go here at the moment! Happy Trails and always good snow under the runners, that's our wish for our future guests!
