Season-Opening

Countdown to arrival of our first Christmas-guests! While the first transfer-car is on its way to Kuopio Airport to pick up guests, we here are dealing with the last preparations. Some last teams of the old kennels are on the trails, the lodge/kitchen gets cleaned, rooms heated, last christmas-decoration is done, cooking preparations, menuplans are written and last christmas-greetings sent out by email.

We had a lot of nice sledrides in the last days, luckily a bunch of fresh snow was added just in time. Sadly the thermometer today shows a bit too mild weather: just around zero and therefore rather heavy, wet snow and water on the lake-ice. But... already coming night will be colder again.

Our trail-crew Gabriel, Helena, Julian and Moritz has prepared a wide part of our trails and nothing can stop us to start for the first overnight-trip to the Aittokoski-cabin. The dogs - and of course we as well - are looking forward to the official season-opening and having a lot of guests here. Lisa and Alex prepared a lot of ice-lanterns and the special days of the year will be illuminted by those.

So nothing more to mention, besides: we wish a Merry Christmas to all our recent and future guests, to our partners from the travel industry, to all our earlier teammembers and to all other mushers. We wish you a good snow cover, happy dogs, excited guests and always good mood on the runners for those who have the chance. And to those in the snowless more southern areas: have a peaceful, merry Christmas with families and friends.
