Thanks to spring-like temperatures we were able to open paddling season. After the evening feeding all together we took our kajaks down to the water for a first short paddling trip.
As a follow-up to last season we started with the follow-up tasks. At our cabin Aittokoski the yard got raked and cleaned, all dog houses put away and the stake-out chains taken down. In addition the inside got a deep clean. Now the cabin is ready for the first summer guests.
Our guesthouse got a spring clean as well as our cabin. All rooms got checked and everything that needed to be washed got taken to the washing maschine. Luckily we were able to dry most of it outside in the sun.
After the season is before the season. We got another wood delivery but this time we still have to cut and split all the wood logs. After that it needs to be put on the trailer and driven up to our cabin where we need it to heat up the cabin and wooden sauna. In addition, we had to take down a wooden signboard accross the raod that fell over.
Of course, there are plenty tasks need to be done in the dog yards. Some dogs started eating rocks while others had a lake inside their kennels due to melting snow. That's why we had to put pallets inside to protect our dogs as a short-term solution. To protect our dogs of the sun, another tasks was to put up sun sails.
A lot of work was to clean all wooden floor kennels using a high-pressure cleaner to get rid of all the dirt after the snow melted.
Now we are ready to greet our first summer guests and wish you all a nice summer!
